5 Ways to Celebrate National Cocktail Day
Updated: Mar 24, 2022

National Cocktail Day falls on March 24th each year and is a great excuse to indulge in a tasty beverage! We can normally find a reason to celebrate something with a drink, but this day makes it a bit easier for us. Remember to drink responsibly when celebrating.
Cocktails are believed to be inspired by British punch bowl drinks from the 18th century. These punches were big bowls of spirits, fruit juices, spices, and other ingredients. Right as the prohibition was beginning, cocktails started to become more popular. Speakeasies were using whatever liquor they could easily acquire illegally, which as you can imagine, wasn't always the best tasting. Bartenders started to mix juices and honey into the liquor to make the drinks easier to drink and more enjoyable.
How to Celebrate National Cocktail Day
Host a Cocktail Party
What's a better way to celebrate than with friends! We recommend encouraging a dress code to make the occasion special. Mix up some large batch or pitcher cocktails, break out the fancy glassware, and enjoy! Don't forget the appetizers!
Make a Classic Cocktail
To honor the cocktail's history, we decided to make one of the "oldest" cocktails we could find. The Floradora dates back to the 1900s and is believed to be inspired by a Broadway production. It is a combination of gin, raspberry liquor, and ginger ale. To make this recipe our own, we substituted the ginger ale for our delicious Raspberry Ginger Brew and it did not disappoint!
